Benefits

A modified child's pose with knees wide apart to accommodate a growing belly. This supported version provides the same restorative benefits while being safe and comfortable throughout pregnancy.

Practice Guide

1

Begin on hands and knees (tabletop position).

2

Bring big toes together, separate knees wide apart (wider than hip-width).

3

Place a bolster, pillow, or folded blanket lengthwise between legs.

4

Slowly sit hips back toward heels, resting torso on the support.

5

Turn head to one side, switch sides halfway through hold.

6

Arms can rest alongside body or reach forward comfortably.

7

Hold for 1-5 minutes, breathing deeply.

8

Focus on releasing tension in lower back and hips.

9

To exit, press hands down and slowly roll up to sitting.

Modifications

Use multiple pillows or a thick bolster for more support

Place blanket over back for warmth and grounding

Sit on heels instead of folding forward if uncomfortable

Use chair seat to rest arms if reaching forward is uncomfortable

Place pillow under knees if kneeling is difficult
