Benefits

Extended Puppy Pose (Melting Heart) offers a deep shoulder, chest, and upper back stretch with a mild spinal extension. It calms the mind, relieves stress, and prepares the body for deeper backbends or inversions.

Practice Guide

1

Start on hands and knees (Tabletop).

2

Keep hips stacked over knees.

3

Walk hands forward, melting chest towards floor.

4

Arms remain extended, shoulder-width apart. Rest forehead or chin on mat (chin is deeper).

5

Feel shoulder/chest/upper back stretch. Engage lower abdomen slightly.

6

Breathe deeply. Hold.

7

Exit: walk hands back to Tabletop or press to Child's Pose.

Modifications

Forehead on mat (less neck/shoulder intensity).

Blanket under knees.

Hands on blocks for deeper stretch.

Bend elbows, palms prayer behind head.

Safety Notes

Knee injury (use padding)

Serious shoulder injury (modify/avoid if painful)

Severe neck issues (use forehead on mat)
