Benefits
Fish Pose is a reclined backbend opening the chest, throat, and shoulders, stretching the front neck and abdomen, and strengthening upper back muscles. It often counters Shoulderstand and can relieve fatigue.
Practice Guide
Lie on back, legs extended or knees bent/feet flat.
Place hands palms down under buttocks or alongside hips.
Inhale, press into elbows/forearms, lift chest/head, arch upper back.
Gently release crown/back of head lightly onto floor (support from arms, not head).
Keep legs active (if straight) or feet grounded (if bent).
Breathe into expanded chest. Hold.
Exit: Press forearms, lift head slightly, tuck chin, slowly lower torso/head. Release arms.
Modifications
