Benefits

Crocodile Pose is a prone resting posture that allows the body to relax completely. It calms the nervous system, relieves tension in the lower back, and encourages diaphragmatic breathing.

Practice Guide

1

Lie flat on your stomach.

2

You can cross your forearms in front of you and rest your forehead on your forearms. Alternatively, turn your head to one side, resting your cheek on the mat or stacked hands.

3

Separate your legs comfortably, allowing your heels to fall outwards or inwards naturally.

4

Let your entire body become heavy and relax into the floor. Release any tension in your shoulders, hips, and jaw.

5

Breathe naturally and deeply into your belly, feeling it press against the floor with each inhale.

6

Hold for several breaths or as long as comfortable. If your head is turned, switch to the other side halfway through.

Modifications

Place a thin, folded blanket under your hips or chest for comfort if needed.

Adjust arm position: arms alongside body, palms up, or one hand stacked on the other under forehead.

If turning head is uncomfortable, keep forehead resting on forearms.

Safety Notes

Pregnancy (avoid in later stages due to pressure on belly)

Recent abdominal or chest surgery (wait until fully healed)

Full stomach (may be uncomfortable)
